1. Who we are

Treasure Scout is operated by Steven Hale trading as Treasure Scout (sole trader), registered at Suncroft, Chapel Street, Guisborough, TS14 6QE, Redcar and Cleveland, England. You can reach us at hello@treasurescout.co.uk.

2. What Treasure Scout does

Treasure Scout uses AI to help you identify second-hand items and estimate resale value based on publicly available sold-listing data (e.g. eBay). It is a research and entertainment tool, not a professional valuation service.

AI-generated estimates are not appraisals. Values shown are predictions based on similar sold items and may be wrong. You alone are responsible for any purchase, sale, or pricing decision you make using the app.

3. Your account

• You must be 18 or over to create an account.
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You agree not to share, resell, or scrape the service, abuse our AI quotas, or upload illegal, offensive, or copyright-infringing images.

4. Pricing and payment

• The Discovery tier is free, with 1 premium scan every 24 hours.
• The Treasure Pass is a single, non-renewing payment for 24 hours of unlimited premium scans.
• Ultimate (monthly) and Platinum (annual) are recurring subscriptions, charged in advance at the price shown at purchase.
• Website prices are shown in GBP and include UK VAT where applicable. In our iOS and Android apps, prices are shown in your own App Store or Google Play storefront currency, as set by Apple or Google.
• Purchases made in our iOS app are processed by Apple, and purchases made in our Android app are processed by Google Play. Payments made on our website are processed by Stripe Payments. We never see or store your full card details.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Subscriptions purchased in our iOS or Android app are managed or cancelled through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Cancelling stops future renewal, and access continues until the end of the current paid billing period. Refund requests for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their refund policies. The Treasure Pass is a one-time, non-renewing 24-hour purchase. For subscriptions bought on our website, you can cancel at any time from your account; renewal stops and access continues to the end of the paid period. See our Refund Policy for the full position, including your rights under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Treasure Scout to: (a) infringe intellectual-property rights; (b) submit unlawful, harmful, or sexual content; (c) interfere with the service or attempt to access other users' data; or (d) misrepresent AI estimates as professional appraisals when reselling.

7. User-generated content

You retain ownership of photos and content you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profit, or losses arising from your reliance on AI estimates. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
